Hatco, a family of headwear companies, preserves and promotes the legacy of cowboy hats and western wear, bringing together brands with more than a century of combined craftsmanship. The company is the culmination of Stetson, Resistol and Charlie 1 Horse, and proudly crafts headwear in Garland, Texas.

Stetson takes its namesake from founder John B. Stetson, who created a felt-fur hat in the untamed American West in the mid-19th century. The company officially took root in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1865. For the next 160 years, the hat would define and rewrite expectations for fashionable headwear and practical cowboy wear. Worn everywhere from Hollywood to ranches and country music stages, Stetson continues its pioneering legacy with an unbridled western spirit. Today, Hatco manufactures Stetson hats while carrying forward the brand's tradition of infusing the western spirit into dynamic styles.

Resistol has been rooted in Texas for nearly 100 years, taking shape in a Dallas hat shop where founders Harry Rolnick and Edward Byer crafted a headwear legacy of their own. What began as dress hats evolved into western hats as demand grew for practical cowboy wear and the desire to embrace the spirit of the West grew. Through decades of growth and headware innovation, the brand became the hat of choice for ranching cowboys, presidents and rodeo athletes alike. As the official hat of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) since 1959, Resistol proudly supports the future of professional rodeo as the presenting partner of the Resistol Rookie of the Year program. Dedicated to the advancement of western sports and the promotion of the western lifestyle, Resistol tips its brim to future generations of cowboys and cowgirls. 

Charlie 1 Horse, founded in 1978, embodied the fashionable flair of cowboys and cowgirls alike. Since its founding, the brand has pursued a clear mission: to break the mold of traditional western wear while staying true to its roots. Built on more than functionality, Charlie 1 Horse hats explore style, self-expression and the independent spirit of the American West. Worn by celebrities and fashion icons alike, the brand's distinctive "C" logo, fire-branded onto each hat's crown, was designed to set Charlie 1 Horse apart from other western hat makers.

The modern Hatco family of companies came together in 1985, formally uniting the largest brands in western headwear. Today, thousands of hats are crafted daily in Garland, Texas, under leadership of owner, Dustin Noblitt, with the future of the western lifestyle in mind and a respectful tip of the brim to the symbolic cowboy hat and the values it represents.
